A Passage in the Orken Catacombs
   The passage is light from the torches that desecrate the skulls that
make up parts of the walls.  The bones are stacked tightly here to hold up
the ceiling, and the floor is made from a dark stone, which is partly
covered with dust.  Footprints clean the dust from the stone revealing
dried, old blood.  Above you is a strange looking mound of bone.

for you to see the dried blood.  Blood also stains the surrounding walls as
well.  Light from the torches to the east and west give off enough light
for you to see.

the wall allowing travel both up and down to be much easier.  The wood

wall, but stops about five feet from it.  The ceiling does the same, but is
still made from the same bones which makes up this dreadful place.

A Tunnel in Orken Mountain
   A strange looking skull has been put in the dark gray ash.  The ash
shows that you are so deep in the mountain the weight from the mountain is
slowly breaking down the solid stone.  The skull has become home for a
small torch that flicks unusual shadows on the wall.  Cobwebs dance from
your movement stirring the air around.  Black smoke from the torch fills
the air making it hard to see.

A Dark Tunnel in Orken Mountain
   The tunnel has been carved from the deep parts of the mountain.  The
walls are of a dark gray ash.  The ash crumbs as you run your hand over it.
Cobwebs dance like playful children as you stir the air with your every
movement.  Light from a torch to the east casts long creepy shadows along
the walls.  Wood has been attached to the northern wall with coffin nails,
allowing one to climb upward.

A Passage in the Orken Catacombs
   The northern wall is made of stone.  Wooden planks have been attached to
the wall allowing travel both up and down to be much easier.  The wood
seems to be fastened with coffin nails, and bone still makes up the eastern
and western walls.  The floor is made from the same stone as the northern
wall, but stops about five feet from it.  The ceiling does the same, but is
still made from the same bones which makes up this dreadful place.

   The southern wall is made from a smooth dark stone.  The stone travels
down to the floor and continues, also making up the floor.  Dust covers

well.  Light from the torches to the east and west give off enough light
for you to see.

lower half of this stonewall.  The smell of death surrounds you, giving off
an eerie feeling about this place.

designs almost breathtaking in its maker's creativity.  The swarming

floor look like a breathing, pulsating entity.

other insects can be seen crawling in and out of the eye sockets, searching
for a remaining bit of flesh to nibble on.  The decay and rancid meat you
have smelled throughout the entire area is emanating from this very room.

   This is a small path winding gently away from the great road.  Normally
a path like this in the middle of a city would seem very out of place,
however it leads south toward the main entrance of the Moldavia city park a
quiet, grassy area to get away from the hectic and overcrowded streets of
the city.

   The ivory marble steps have led you up to a wide landing in front of the
magnificent church.  A shallow enclave of stone leads straight ahead to the

unicorns look down on you from the walls of the enclave, and a small brass
bowl of holy water is affixed to one wall.  This is to allow those who wish
to enter to bless themselves so that they do not contaminate the holy

the walkway, and judging by their length it would be easy to seat fifty
or more people in each one.  The pews are made of a rich, dark wood and 
uncushioned - your own personal comfort should not be a concern when one
comes to pray.  They are kept clean and repaired (as is the whole of the
church) by the altar boys that serve the gods, and the bishop, faithfully.
In the walls on either side are yet more of the colorful windows, and 
candles all around light your path to the north.

Chaundlers' Guildhouse
   This small stone house is intensily bright, every corner filled with the
light radiating from dozens of candles of all sizes shapes and colors
burning on wooden peg-shelves around the room.  Several enclosed fireplaces
are set up in the floor of the back end of the room.  Each holds a huge
cast iron cauldron filled with boiling tallow.  The air is stiflingly hot,
as the tiny windows in the walls do little to pass the heat created by the
candle making process.

just as it is forced to bend southward around an unattractive concrete
building to the east.  A solid oaken door leads into the building, and is
heavily guarded.

    As a major intersection of the city, this bend is constantly crowded
with people.  The massive, circular arena stands directly to the west,

headquarters.

An Overgrown Walkway
   As you step onto the cobblestones extending south, a chill passes over
your spine.  The world around you suddenly becomes an ashen grey, as if the
sun were blotted out.  Plant life appears to be dying, as if attempting to
sprout from diseased earth.  Ahead, you spot a large, white mansion.  Its
large windows are pitch black as if staring at you, daring you to venture
within and discover its secrets.

your feet muffling your every footstep is one obvious reason.

and, although you can't be sure, it seems to have taken on a deeper shade
of red.

   The room here suddenly opens up into a wide, expansive space.  The
ceiling, which just north was only a few feet taller than yourself, now

you to the floor.  The carpet has now turned an ominous shade of red, dark
as the blood that has been spilled in this house many times.  Everything
has become quiet, as still as death.
